My horse jumps flat.

I have an ex racer and he jumps pretty flat.
Even when I lunge him hes jumping flat.
I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on jumping exercises or schooling exercises I could do to try and help him.

my frends ex racer jumped flat too but with lots of time and patience using lots of grids and slowing the whole thing down it really improved its style but I'm sure other people have much better methods

I would try grids/bounces even polework? Would get him thinking and as he would have to think quickly about the next fence, maybe it would help him become rounder over the fences as it would then be easier for him to jump the next?

That's just the first thing that came into my head xD No idea if it would work...

Fillers often help too. My horse likes to jump flat, and fast as it's easier for him! But if I stick some fillers under a pole he makes a much better effort to clear the jump in a rounded shape.

Grid work, bounce fences and using V poles on the fence to make the horse look at the fence before jumping.
