Yesterday went to a local show with the mare. Spent loads and loads of time making her look gorgeous the day before.

I entered her in the M and M in hand and ridden classes

The in hand we got 4th out of a large crowd - well impressed I was.

however come to the ridden. My mare has a very sensitive mouth - to say the least! On Tuesday last week she had her teeth done by the dentist. so I thought to show her in I would use our french link rugby pelham. However when I began to warm up she was telling me that she was not happy. but did I listen - nooo! So off we go into the ring and began to trot round was she happy - nooo! We did our show was she happy - nooo! she put her head up in the air and became very strong and difficult to control however i did and we came 6th - surprised I was!

However when we undertook the lap of honour she took off with me and as the ground was soft and slippy she decided she would stop and move sharply to the right - but I did not I went to the left!

The best bit was that it was right in front of the crowd!

Thank god the ground was soft and the only thing damaged was my pride.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I sooo wish I had put her in her happy mouth loose ring snaffle.

I rode her tonight just to make sure that it was the bit that upset her and not because she is being a madam and it was the bit. She went lovely so she is yet again forgiven.

Well done on your results!

Nothing like a horse to bring you crashing back to reality, I got bucked off twice at our first (and only) show

And at least you know why she did it and I'm sure it wont happen again.....fingers crossed
