Hi can anyone help. My horse manages to rub his head collar off in our lorry - sometimes 20 + times at a show and when we are travelling - he will also rub his bridle off in a matter of seconds. All he does is tilts his head slightly and with a couple of rubs it is off over his ears. I tie him up tightly with a bungee and or rope and he has hay whilst travelling and if he is left. He does this whether we travel him alone or in company. http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif

Put a plait at the top of his mane, then thread a boot lace or something similar through and tie to the headcollar or bridle, this should hold it. The owners of Welsh ponies do this as they often get their bridles off when in the showring by just shaking their heads.

My new forest does this - we cross tie him so he can't rub his head on the partition but can move it enough so he can eat and lift his head up and down.
