My horse won’t stop kicking

walked him down to the arena today and was about to get on when he started kicking it was more of a continual stamp with his left hind leg he’s never kicked before and picked his foot up to be picked out before, i got on and walked him about my sister said he just looked a bit stiff but definitely not sound he kicked a few times while i rode as well (only walked him for a few minutes) any ideas why he would do this he’s field kept so i thought maybe a field injury

Classic - rapid stamping of the same foot is more often than not, irritation from mites, as other have said. Your vet can inject with Dectomax or you could try Frontline Spray BUT patch test first as they can react to it.

Thank you for the reply’s i will check his feathers tomorrow only thing that makes me think it’s not that is he was obviously not sound but will have a look
