Just had a phone call that at least my yearling has somehow got out of the field. Typically my husband has the car for a few hours so waiting for a lift to get me there. All was well a few hours ago, so heaven knows what to expect.
If the other 2 stayed put they will, I am sure be fretting, but if all three have got out then I hope they will be injury free ----- please.

Hate waiting, hate having 1 bloody car when I need it and havn't got it! Oh, and the kids in tow too.

Hope you find them safe and sound!

Mine escaped some years ago and was found on the local cricket pitch , much to the disgust of the cricketers, who were .

Hope they are okay, as the owner of a Houdini I feel for you. Luckily Cappy only ever takes himself in, hopefully you'll find yours grazing away wondering why mum is looking so fraught!
Fingers crossed,
FDC

Well, good news and bad news.

Found the yearling making friends with next door's mare. No damage.:) Led her back through the broken fence and cocky so and so turned round and tried to re- escape! Meanwhile the other 2 just stood and watched. My mare has got a little hot but nothing more. The old gelding was nice and relaxed, but is now a tad lame behind, think he has tried to canter at some point, but at the mo it isn't anything too serious, just stiffness I think and he seems happy in himself.
Fixed the fence, put electric tape up and put it on... 'should' stop her!!!

Now, for the bad news...
While all this was going on, my dog was doing her rounds of boundry fence patrol, making sure no wabbits came in ect... seemed ok. Til we got her back to the 'lift car'. She has staked herself. What appears to be a stick has entered the front of her tummy just at the very base of her rib cage, its a puncture wound. A further exit hole is further back. Luckily it is only skin deep. Took her striaght to the vets, who cleaned her up. She would have had an op to stitch it, flush it and pop a drain in, but at the moment my money hasn't cleared and as they require payment at treatment, I don't have it. It will cost a fair price. Part of me feels awful, but the dog seems ok. I have packed the wound in manuka honey, and popped a bandage around her tummy! Its not the first time, so 'Ebby' knows the ropes. Whippet lurchers 'eh!
So, now please continue vibes for a healing healthy dog please!

Glad to hear that the neds are now behaving - sorry about your doggy but I expect that your home -made honey solution will be just fine - keeping infection out will be the main worry , but you sound like the sort of person who is used to a bit of DIY dog mending - why pay the vets if you don't need to! Healing vibes coming up to you on the drizzle from paddy in cornwall..
