Really - its mad!
Im such a nervous rider - scared of falling off, him falling on me etc etc

Thi spast year we have done so well - hacking out, me sitting every spook and silliness - yet in school im a panic monster!

Not been cantering long - confidence failure. Never jumped - till he decided it was time to!

Last week coming home he decided he didnt want to walk round some logs and jumped them! I stayed on

Today I took him out on his own, no other horses just my oh walking with us. Omg how naughty was he - saw something in teh woods he didnt liek and planted - he got a tap when encouragement didnt work and threw a proper strop!

Bucked, reared - turned and ran jumping logs and bashing into trees in his mad 2 minute dash!
But i stayed on - didnt fall and got him to turn back and stop!!!

Im so so pleased - he was proper silly, i was petrified but instinct kicked in and I remembered everything ive been taught and did it - I can stay on and control him!

Although lesson learnt - it was windy today and I dont think I will try riding him out alone without other horses in such weather!

Sorry for the self gratifying post - I even got him to go on further than he wanted and I decided when to turn and head for home!

Somehow i think our lessons will be a doddle now, confidence wise - if he couldnt get me off today when i was unprepared and only with my non horsey hubby !!!

Well on the positive side, if he's jumping logs of his own accord, it sound like he'd be great going cross country!

lol he would be a whizz! he does love to jump!!!
Would have been nice if hed waited till id had jumping lessons though lol - hes obviously got bored of waiting for me and decided to show me he can do it and i can sit it ! :D

Well done for coping with him so well :) No wonder you are feeling proud of yourself and so you should be.
He does sound like a little monkey.

Massive well done! I had a moment on a hack a few weeks ago that was a little bit similar (no where near as scary though) and felt great for 2 weeks. Having another wobble at the moment though but you have given me hope!

Seriously well done x

But seriously if i can do it anyone can - i really am the worlds biggest wuss - or was!!!

Thing what amazed me is when it kicked off i just remembered everything id been taught and had read - i really thought in a panic id just forget everythinhg and lose it - I didnt - it flooded in !

I so know what its like to have the wobbles - big hugs to you and dont ever give up !!!
