My horses Splint.

Hello,

Ok well my 4 year old got a splint a few weeks ago, was very lame so was taken to vets and given Bute and two weeks off, we are now coming to the end of that two weeks and he has been off Bute for 3 days and is sound.

When he was on Bute he was lame until about a week ago so we took him off Bute and he is still sound.

Now d you think it is ok now to start hacking him out and riding him gently, seeing the splint has obviously formed now. And I was always told that once sound that it has formed and that you shouldn’t get any further problems with riding them???


What do you all think???

I would check with the vet that they are happy, a phone call might do it, and consider Splintex for a green splint (sorry ,can't remember if that is Splintex silver or Gold)
