My JRT Bitch that was spayed, I think there is a problem

Hi guys,

It's been over 4 weeks since my JRT was spayed. When I took her back to the vets for her check up (a week after op) the nurse said that she had had a 'reaction' to the stiches, although it was nothing to worry about.

The reaction manifested in little lumps under the skin along the line of the scar.

Yesterday I noticed the scar line was looking a bit pink, however, today it has a little line of pus along it and is more pink.

She is a bit of a 'licker' however didnt lick the wound when it was new

I am worried she is 'coming undone'

so I am going to call the vet in the morning as I dont think it's life threatening, although she has been very irritable last couple of days but not off her food or anything..

If you guys think its serious can you let me know so I can get her to the vets?? Cheers guys

Sounds like she may need antibiotics. I'm sure it will keep until the morning. Check her temperature, if it's high you could ring the vet on call for advice.

Get her one of those lampshade thingies aswell. It will stop her irritating the wound.

She has an infec tion, so you need to take her back asap.
