Pointless post but just to let you know my 10yr old son had his first experience of hunting this morning, and he and the pony were little superstars.
Having been totally un-horsey up until now, he announced at the last Boxing day meet he wanted to learn to ride just so he could hunt. He has only had the pony since March, but since then has been to PC, attended numerous fun rides and mini comps, so has had a steep learning curve.
He has come out on hound excercise a couple of times prior to Autumn hunting so we could guage how the pony would behave, but had nothing too worry about today, as it behaved impeccably - he even had better brakes than me which was annoying!!!!
He also had a go with my hunting whip, and managed to turn a hound back that was heading to the main rd at speed, so can see him being an amateur whip in years to come!
Words cannot describe the pleasure of standing in the sunshine on a chilly Autumn morning, with your son standing next to you sharing your passion......here's too many more.
