Came up from the field fine at lunchtime. Started to tack up. Few minutes later he had grown a foot in height, prancing about, calling, sweating and staring down towards the far field. Put him in his stable to calm down. Did NOT have the desired effect - started running round stable pooing and weeing randomly. Carried on sweating, calling etc. What could have induced this crazed behaviour??? Apparently the hunt had passed that way a few hours earlier and he had only just realised. Plonker. Was a loon for the rest of the day. (Lovely bit of dressage in the evening though> Was like aliens had kidnapped my real horse for the day and swapped him for a PSG master!!). Anyone else's horse have this reaction to the hunt.

Oooh what a bore!!! Hope he sorted himself out soon enough. A groom at an old yard used to have the hunting horn ringtone....my little hunter got terribly excited whenever her phone went off...

My share horse has this reaction when the weather turns.... to everything!!! Which is actually a right pain in the butt as he's 17hh anyway, I really dont need him to be growing any....

Oh how funny the YO where we were at livery had a hunting horn ringtone, he was leading my nutty chestnut out one day, the phone went off and nutty one grew 2ft, swung his head round and gave him a black eye

Pony who has hunted only a very few times (because she got so het up) goes mad when the hunt is about, and is stressy for ages afterwards. Murphy, who was a field masters horse for several years before we had him, just stands looking very interested if he even hears hounds but is far calmer about it. In fact you could almost imagine him telling the pony off in case she heads the fox

Only downside of Murph's previous "position" is when daughter does take him hunting he expects to be at the front
