Very sadly lost my last little girl on Friday to old age. She was 19 and up until last week was perfectly well but over the weekend she started to slow up and wasn’t interested in food unless I fed her. She quietly slipped away with me cuddling her. It’s the end of an era as I lost her sister 16 months ago and my other little silver tabby just as we went into lockdown, both 17.

The fluffy blind one at 15 who is now also deaf is and will be my last ever permanent cat. Instead I’m going foster for my local cat charity as they never have enough volunteers for the unwanted mothers with kittens.

RIP Sparkle

Thank you for the lovely comments, they came together when they were 1 and 2. Blue was the younger by 9 months and they had been attacked by a husky dog in the home they were living in. I wasn’t really looking for anymore cats but I couldn’t say no as they were so traumatised and absolutely terrified of everything. It took a lot of love and patience before I was regarded as anything other than bottom of the food chain especially by Blue but we got there in the end. They had never been outside so I built a catio off the conservatory for them and once we trusted each enough I let them out properly but never went further than the garden.

Sorry to hear of your loss, sparkle was beautiful. They were lucky you nursed them to confidence to mature years after their rough start xx
The cat charities will be very appreciative of an experienced foster home. We’ve decided we will foster too when our circumstances better allow it.

Oh no,not lovely Sparkle. I am so sorry😿😿
I know 19 is an amazing age, especially for a pure breed, but it's still incredibly hard losing them. They were so lucky to have been loved by such an amazing person, and I hope Blue will be ok. Sending much love to you both. Angie xxxxx
