Major dramas and such an up and down day!

Put T on lorry only to discover flat tyre. Then arranged another lorry only couldn't find keys. T then peed off down towards the fields with travel boots on and lead rope dangling (he can be emotional!!!) rope burned my fingers (ouch). So I admitted defeat rang to say I couldn't come and turned T out.

But...... As I got back on the yard I recieved a call to say there was another cancellation. By then we had managed to get a box that worked and was big enough for him. We got him loaded and off we went!!!

I thought Carl was a really nice man, he didn't make me feel like I shouldn't be there even though most of the other people there were professional rider / instructors on expensive and good horses. T was bought for 1500 and was "saved" by me from a not so good life. I forgot all about the people watching, a few comments were made how it was nice to have an everyday horse and rider that the everyday horsey person could relate to. T isn't the easiest of horses. He has spavin and for most of his life been ridden in draw reins and is quite partial to the odd buck or two. Carl gave me some really good pointers and some good exercises which helped T loosen up and relax. At the end of the lesson he had time to talk to me and made me smile by saying T is 100% sound (T has spavin).

All in all a fab session and Carl autographed my book.

Did any one else go and watch?? I was on at 12.30 on the bay bucking horse who forgot which way was left and right a couple of times with a big smile on my face!!

Claire, I'm so pleased 1) you got there1 & 2) had a great lesson. He is such a nice man and really relates to 'real' people and their horses.

Any piccies?

I got loads of piccies once i can figure out how to get them posted I will put them on the picture forum.

The only problem now is I want more lessons from him.....

Did you get any pics taken?

Ahh you are lucky - im very jealous.

I am so jealous I would love to have a lesson with him. You always imagine that you will never be good enough and need to be doing impressive things so I think its great that he can help so much.

The lesson was at Frogpool Manor in Chislehurst, this is quite local to where I am stabled. When I last visited there, there was a poster up saying he was giving sessions throughout the day and if you wanted a chance of a lesson then you had to put your name in the draw. I got picked. I am never usually that lucky!!!
