The journey of Little Cigar.

In 2007 I decided that I would like to breed a showjumper from PF (pictured below)

(I agree that not wearing a hat is idiotic- please feel free to be as critical as you choose :) )

And THIS was the stallion I liked :) His name is Remonta Habano and he's now been sold to the USA. Ridden by UncleSr.

On 15th Jan, 2009, this small wet spidery thing popped out of PF. Luckily he improved and turned into a gorgeous foal. All plans of selling a colt and keeping a filly went out of the window.

I can see this is going to get very long-winded so...

And a few days ago :) It's supposed to be autumn but it was very very hot, hence my not-very-cheerful face. Mum was sitting in the shade.

LC is so good I can just leave him loose to faff around with poles and he'll wait.

First video of jumping under saddle. First few fences (at trot) have a placing pole. I'm aware that there is a huge amount of poo (photoshopped out of the stills above) It's not usually that bad but YO has been putting his horses in there overnight. There is usually enough space and sun and heat that poo isn't an issue

LC's breeding (his proper name is Partagas, and PF's IS indeed, Charlie Big Potato)

Wow he has grown up!! I remember the pics of him as a foal, can't quite believe how long ago that was!
He looks lovely, and looks to have a fab temperament as well! He's PFs mini-me ;)

I'm massively dissapointed by the lack of pink.... :)

He looks super...! He's the first HHO foal I've followed, it's lovely to see him as a grown up!

Has he turned out as you hoped?

I do have a photo of him with a pink saddle cloth the day I first sat on him... but only because it was the only one I had clean at the time!
I love looking back at the photos of PF's tummy and then when he was born. It seems so recent and yet at the time it seemed like ages and ages.
Yes, he's very much as I hoped he would be, although I wouldn't mind him being a couple of inches taller :) He's a fraction under 15.2 at the moment, I think

Ah, lovely Leeeeeeeetle Ceeeeeeeegar, he is a sweetheart. However, shock horror gratituitous shots of showjumping stallion riding hatless riders is far too much for a Sunday evening for me ........ wanders off to get a stiff G & T.

He is a sweetie, nice to see his pictures of him growing up, plus another vote here for 15hh mares as well.

Oh God, don't call him a Stallion, his head is already far too inflated (maybe why he can't wear a hat :p )
15hh(ish) mares are the best :)

Aah, I saw on fb that you were doing an LC update on here, so had to have a look :) He's gorgeous & so like PF to look a You must be seriously proud that you've produced such a lovely, willing little horse.

*whispers* Who are you on FB? You can tell me on there if you like. I'm rubbish at remembering!!
I really am delighted with him, he's such a joy to own and ride. I'm actually a bit nauseating ;)
