Mmmmmm...tasty! On the bright side, at least it wasn't something that got stuck and needed an operation to get out. I bet my weimaraners would steal and chew soap, but it takes a special dog to eat the bar.
Some traditional soaps have an ingredient called Tallowate in it, (Tallow) being hard fat from beef, usually from round the kidneys (suet) and heated to process it.
My dogs tend to try to eat soap when they get a chance because it has tallow(ate) in it as well as I make my own tallow for leather conditioning and soap making so I have to watch they don't eat that too!
Ooooh lovely Next time point her in the direction of the mouthwash instead then at least you can have fresh breath kisses instead of slightly foamy ones
Labs are fantastic but they can be a bit daft at times, I can't imagine that tasted very nice ha ha!
Hehehe, oh dear! When my mother was younger she lived in Africa and had two large German Shepherds as guard dogs. She came home one day to find one running around in a state, its mouth thick with foam. She penned him in the kitchen and called the vet as an emergency, afraid that it was rabies and thinking she would lose one or even both of her dogs. The vet came and, after a very careful examination, declared that the idiot mutt was fine, he'd just eaten a whole bar of soap!
(Idiot mutt was fine, just frothy and upset at the taste!)
