my mare doesnt pee in her stable at night ever i have had her for 6 months and she had never really been in a stable until i got her she is a 8 and was a brood mare just wondered if she was the only one

Whenever I put a new bed of wood pellets down it takes Ron about a week to decide he can stand on the bed, never mind wee on it!

I suspect that it will just take her time to get used to it!

Sounds like heaven my mare doesn't stop weeing, if we hack out and her back hooves touch grass that's it!!!!, she was having the biggest wee ever the other day, car came towards us saw that we were stopped and he must have assumed she was scared of cars, so he stopped and turned his engine off meanwhile madam finish's wee that could have sunk the titanic (second in 45 minutes) the shame she has no dignity in public

As for the stable if wood pellets were not so absorbent her stable would resemble a swimming pool every morning!!!!!

You could have been describing my mare a welsh x she thinks her stable is just for peeing in lol yet she didnt for the first 3 monthes i had her!!! So OP wait till she has settled and she may wee for england it may also be a change in bedding? my mare was on shavings now on paper shortly to go on wood pellets due to being sooo wet!!

Now any excuse even if its just a quick one as soon as i put new bedding in to say ' hey mum i know you sneaked new bedding in and its too good to not destroy already'

Tonight i went for a loooong hack gave her a well overdue bath and tucked her away for the night she peed immediately waterfall was the only description i stood and watched her she took great pleasure in pulling faces at me the only saving grace is that my friend is mucking her out tmrw as i did her mare Tues!!!

I have a mare that absolutely will not wee in her stable overnight!! She can come in at 4pm and will hang on till 7am!!! It worries me but have tried everything and there's not really much I can do about it! She lives out as much as possible.

I get my mare in at 5pm and she goes out at 7.30am and she doesnt pee but as soon as she gets in the field whoosh she pees but i ride her 1st thing she wont pee when we are out she will still wait till i put her out i was worried but the vet said some mares are just like that and because she has always lived out till i got her maybe she is just a clean girl

I think my gelding is the opposite; holds it in all day and has to pee the second he gets into his stable. I make sure I have a bucket with a handful of shavings in the bottom handy - saves on the mucking out!

My mare doesn't wee in her stable at all. I have tried all sorts different bedding, lots of bedding, changing stable but none of it worked. I have resigned myself to the fact that she just is just really clean and will never wee.

If I ride first thing i take her onto a patch of grass so she can wee before I ride and this works well. Also if she has to be in all day I give her several opportunities to wee on the grass.

My old Gingerwitch was a class act - she would walk into her stable turn around take a mouthful of hay and then wee for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales - she was the only horse I have ever met that would wee and eat at the same time and if it was a long wee should would take another huge mouthful of hay

Wish my gelding didn't!! Has HAS to have a wee in the same spot in the field after a schooling session then comes in & does it again all over his fresh bedding! His bed is drenched every morning!!! Fo you want to swap lol?!!! He's not so keen on weeing in public though (took him 2yrs to do it out at a show!!)
