I cant stop grinning!
Most of you wont remember me and my mare (Ellie the Beast!), but i used to post quite a bit about her on here. So thought i'd do a bit of an update on her.
Well, nearly 3 years ago she managed to rupture the medial collateral ligament in her near fore. She was given only a 30% chance of becoming field sound so we were all pretty :(
We decided to give her a chance, and she received IRAP therapy, shockwave and boxrest in the hope we would give her the best possibility of being able to potter around in the field pain free.
Well, she surpassed everyones expectations and came sound for us, shes back in ridden work and i was given the ok to jump her again by her vet at Rossdales.
So this is what i did at the weekend :) she was a superstar. we kept them tiny, and only popped a few, but she hasn't forgotten a thing. Was beautifully mannered and jumped like she'd never had a break. I asked my friend to pop a couple so i could see how she was moving, and she was an absolute pro.
I really can't wait to get her back on track this year!
And a fairly recent gratuitous pic of the hairy monster - (hair has since been removed!)

Thanks for reading my self indulgent waffle!

Thats fab news and so pleased for you. Can my mare join the star club please? Shes been confined on box rest for the last near on 14 months after a variety of conditions. A joint mouse in her fetlock being removed, brush with laminitis and a tear in her DDFT. Shes been so well behaved and been back in ridden work since 5th Feb. Off to horsepital on thursday as showing a bit of discomfort in her hoof which I think is the corticosteriod wearing off. Hoping she can go in field soon as Im sure this will help her moreso. Shes been so good and I just want her to be sound. Even better if she comes good like your mare but for the time being, if she can go out, she will just enjoy being a horse again and maybe I will get a rest from mucking out for once!

Hope your good luck continues x

Aw, of course she can join!
Im so sorry to hear you've had such bad luck with her, but it makes it so much easier when they're well behaved throughout it doesn't it! I was so proud of my girl for staying chirpy all the way through her box rest when she was so used to being out 24/7.
Me and Ellie are sending you all the healing vibes we can spare :)
Good luck with her!
