My mare is in season....again!

Normally Cropi comes into season and they are hardly noticable, she is a bit of a tart but nothing major. She came into season 3 weeks ago and was REALLY in season, to the point that when I brought her in from the field she was squirty every half a dozen steps and I could not ride her, she was also squirting in her field constantly. She sometimes looked quite uncomfortable when she was doing it. It lasted about a week and she was fine. Yesterday I thought that I saw her squirting again but I was not sure, well tonight she definatley is back in season, only 3 weeks since the last one.

I have had her for 2 years now and never known her like this. Is this normal or rather not unusual? Should I keep a note of them and see when she comes into season again or should I look at getting her checked out by the vet (checking hormone levels via bloods??) or put her on a supplement??

Opinions needed please!!

This is normal as i have the same problem.... and the geildings are getting rather fed up with her... she will not leave them alone..."who needs a horse walker" lol
 
If she has suddenly altered that much, I would get a vet to check her over just in case, it could be something wrong with her ovaries
 
I have got the same problem. I have only had my mare 2 months. She came into season within a couple of weeks of me having her, and again every two weeks. Yesterday she was a real monster! To begin with I though the change of environment may have triggered it off, plus the proximity to two young geldings (whom is is definitely in love with), but its getting a bit extreme now. Previous owners have said she didn't have this 'problem' beforehand, so am hoping it is just a phase. It is a teeny bit comforting to see that others are having the same experience. Tricksy - is that your naughty mare in your signature? She looks gorgeous and very similar to my Snowflake Appy mare!!

love her to bits though. Just wish she would not do her squirty bits at anything that moves, it can be a bit embarrasing!!! Seems like its in the air at the moment though
