As some of you know I have a very green mare. She is a welshy and is sharp and stubborn and usually thinks everything is out to get her  well she was far from perfect today but manageable. It was her sensible tb friend that was having the bad day today! He really did think everything was out to get him!
We were walking down the road and of course he picked the spot on a corner, with a junction just around the bend and cars coming in both directions to spin and be a big wimp about something. The cars waited patiently while he had a dance around, but he wasn't going to go forward!
Now my mare does not like to take the lead, she likes to run right up his back side but won't take the lead!
Well she was nervous as she new Ben was afraid but she did as I asked and walked on! Very slowly and on tip toes but she lead the way and gave Ben the confidence to follow!
I'm so proud of her!
A pointless post but had to share!

On another note, she did confirm she does not like a horse behind her! She has not properly kicked yet but on the two occasions Ben has been behind she definitely threatens! And I was hoping to hunt with her eventually, not sure if we has the manners for it though!

Well done, it takes time and it shows how much trust she has in you.....with the hunting BIG RED RIBBON :D its what my friend did and stayed at the back.

Nice feeling :) well done. Its lovely when they show their trust.
I took ASBO cob out with his arch nemis, a TB gelding, today and they actually walked and trotted side by side without gurning, glaring or kicking. A truce at last or at least for the duration of the ride.:D Last time he did a lovely back up for me at a junction, i thought! He just wanted to get within kicking distance. :D will have to rename him Angel cob at this rate.

I'll remember the red ribbon! Thanks! As for staying at the back... Not sure i quite have enough controller over her yet! She's a madam for trying to do her own thing!

ASBO cob! I love it!
I was please my girl actually stopped at a junction today, considering her horsey friend had already crossed the road I thought that was good for her too! Lol!
