lol, im glad it isnt only me.my car resembles a stable, tack room, wardrobe, rubbish bin etc i dont clean the cars interior ,i muck it out and on some occasions have to empty the boot so that i can get all the parcels i need to deliver in there!
house isnt any better, kids treat it like one big dustbin, only moved into it in july and havnt even bothered to put carpets down and probably wont til the kids leave home. my mother is a clean freak and everything has its place etc etc. i think thats why i couldnt care less about housework after living in what only could be described as a show home for 17 years. i reckon its a rebellion thing that im still going through 23 years on .. if i leave the housework for long enough she will do it as she cant stand the mess. i usually blitz the place every so often.
the stables are a much tidier place and i can often be heard telling the kids to scrub out the food/water buckets properly as 'how would you like to eat off a dirty plate, drink from a dirty cup' NO? well dont expect your horse to either! lol
I don't have kids but live alone, go to Uni and work 1 full day, 1 afternoon and 1 late shift per week. With my load of Uni work and my horse to do on top of working to afford him I hardly have any time for housework. It's normally a rush job before my boyfriend comes over haha.
Well, at the moment, my father in law is in hospital and my dad's recently come out of hospital. So I hve to go and feed Athena, then go to dad's to see him, then we're having to go to the hospital and then home which after doing all that is about half past nine! I've got at least 6 piles of ironing to do. God knows when Im gonna have time for that!!!
I am lucky, I have a very small house with no carpets, I don't have a job and the horses are right outside the door, living out with automatic waterers and round bales, so I never need to rush to do them.
My entire arsenal of cleaning equipment amounts to wet wipes, kitchen towels, a brush and glass/window cleaner meant for car windows! I sweep the floors in 10 minutes flat, do the top floor, then sweep everything down 2 sets of stairs to the bottom sitting room into the furnace room and out of the backdoor!
That is the sum total of my daily cleaning
It does help that we don't have animals indoors and that outdoor shoes and coats get left in the hallway, or furnace room before actually coming into the house.
The only problem I have (and I hold my hand up to being the main culprit) is that flat surfaces never seem to stay clear for long, books, papers, phones, odd bits and pieces all kind of accumulate on them.
