When the horses are moulting I stuggle teribly with my asthama when grooming. After seeing the Martin Clunes show where they Dust Bustered the Budweiser horses it gave me an idea...... I use the Dyson dog grooming tool on my spaniel and wondered if I could use the same on the horses but am I being completely dumb??:confused::eek:

They are both fab to clip and have noisy machinery around them and obviously if they hated it I wouldn't do it again.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about its this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dyson-Groom-Tool-Vacuum-Assisted-Groomer/dp/B004CLPJRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361458288&sr=8-1

Don't be frightened by the metal combs they are springy and you can have them on several different levels or even fully retracted.

If I had power up the yard I would totally do it! Both ours are fine with clipping so no reason to think they would bat an eyelid at this.
Make sure you use an RCD at the plug just incase the lead gets stood on though!

Given it's an attachment for animal grooming I see no reason why you couldn't try and introduce it to your horse and see what he makes of it.

I have the Hoover for this attachment haven't tried it on the horses or the dog. It's a cordless Hoover but doesn't last long before needing charging again

Wow! I didn't know there was such a thing as dog vaccums! I have a very hairy Labrador and I think this is a must at pay day lol! If I can get one near my horse as well........

I think you need a vacuum cleaner that is designed for water, I believe the blue Henry (Harrold?) is :)

My dad also has a vax carpet shampooer which he uses at any given opportunity like a saddo (remembering when I spilt a glass of flipping WATER and he got in a panic 'Quick! Get the vax!' Revenge was sweet when he spilt a cup of tea and had the audacity to ask me for a damp cloth...)

Just remember to use an rcd circuit breaker.....after all we use electric clippers, electric dentist tools on our horses, why not vacuum cleaners and hoof grinders??? It's a case of getting the horse used to each one in turn!!

We discussed this very thing a week or two ago. :)

Sorry I don't notice that

So long as the hose is long enough - I have a real thing about electrical equipment too close to a horse's feet.

I have an extra long hose 4 metre - I wouldn't do it with the standard one as it would be too close and I'd probably fall over it never mind the pony! :D

Yep I have one of these thank you.

Right...... let the moulting commence- I'll let you know how I get on! :p
