I took Joe up to the BSJA at Moulton yesterday, our first BSJA show, and competed on a ticket.
He warmed up quite well, and jumped great, even in that gale that was blowing
, so of we went to jump our round (90cm).
Well, i think he was a bit overwhelmed by the course, which was up to height and full of fillers. He jumped everything but had legs everywhere and i couldn't get a rhythmical canter to save my life
. We finished on a massive 24 faults.
Anyway, next class was again 90cm over a different course, so we had another go.
He was soooo much better, and we finished on 4 faults
, whilst there is LOTS to work on, it was by no means a smooth round, it gave me hope!
The plan is to get my bum into gear at home and do some grid work and related distances, and to get him out and about as ring practice is obviously what he needs!
Just thought i would add that apparently there will be 4 BSJA shows next winter.
