What is going on? I hate dog shows lol, l was brought up going to them from the year dot and I escaped as soon as I could, I swore never to return.... 😛

So last week I had the massive proudness of Ace going BIS at the Greyhound Trust fun dog show, and today I judged a fun dog show for Forever Hounds greyhound charity - and I really enjoyed it!

Thankfully all the breeds were easy to identify, even if they were more diverse than I’d expected (Pyrenean mountain dog, Newfoundland, couple of wire haired vizlas as well as all the poo types etc!) but it was really fun 😊

My co judge and I settled on a rather gorgeous blue staffy boy for BIS, i did love him although I’d have gone for a divine working bred GSD with lovely movement... co-judge just wasn’t a fan ☹️

And it was SO unfair 😂 the owner of the absolutely gorgeous little brindle whippet which won the ‘dog the judge would most like to take home’ class hands down for me wouldn’t let me take her little dog home 🙄😂😂😂 I had to have lots of cuddles instead.

I fear I may be taking my boys to another show next weekend 😱 well, it is just down the road 🙄

Surely if you enter your dog in a class called Dog the Judge would most like to take home you are agreeing that the judge can take you dog home. Levrier that whippet is used.
Took my Lurcher and Saluki to fun dog show at riding club yesterday - Lurcher borrowed a child and won best child handler - she thought she handled the child very well. Saluki decided it was all a bit beneath him and looked down his (long) nose at everyone.
General agreement among riding club members that dogs were much easier than horses - smaller poos, no loading issues to go home. We may stop being a riding club and just do everything with dogs!

Love this description 😂😂 there was a gymkhana and horse show as well today, but they didn’t tend to come to our ring much - other than the lovely kid who won the ‘family dog’ class for me (in jodhpurs etc!) because she had 5 dogs and I thought that was definitely a goal since I only have 4 😛

Two of hers were chihuahua crosses mind you 🙄

Our pony club show had a dog show too on Saturday. It was a lovely sunny day, and the children were all so cute with their dogs (big, and small).....

The Musical Sit was a highlight for me personally :)
