Well, he made it safe and sound. I am completely drained today - I think all the adrenalin has gone from all the excitement and worry. Have a look and see what you think (until this morning he had never had a bridle, bit or saddle near him!)

aw so fluffy, lovely seems very relaxed aswell for a baby thats not been under saddle before.

How did he take to it?

That's so great to hear you guys say that he looks relaxed. Means allot.

He didn't take to the bit at all at first!! It took me 30 minutes to get it near him. He just reared and scraped for ages and refused to play ball. In the end I put some feed in the palm of my hand and buried the bit in it - he then went to eat the feed and I just slipped the bit in. Perfect! He licked and waggled his tongue but he got used to it.

The saddle I immediately placed on his back - he didn't batter an eyelid. I then took him for a walk round the school and I let him off the lead. As expected, he bucked about trying to get it off then settled. He walked over to me dropped his head and walked back to his yard in peace.

It does look funny when they are bucking and farting and wondering why it wont come off always makes me chuckle, its when they do it with me on i dont like it

He stands at 14h at the moment - his passport says he will rise to 15h. Do you think he will grow? if not that height, a bit bigger at least? i haven't had a baby before and not sure of when they stop growing.

He looks lovely he has a kind eye. i just bought a 5 yr old 16.3hh 3 weeks ago, mine had been halter broken but that was all, couldn't even get to his feet, tail any where, but after three weeks, he picks up his feet, i've had saddle, bridle on which he took to straight away and he is happy for me to stand on the top step of the mounting block above him and lean on the saddle. it is such a good feeling every tiny step we make. good luck with yours.
