So I picked up my new boy from Darley's Rehoming at the beginning of this week :-) I have him on a three month trial period and then get the opportunity to make a donation and buy him if all is going well.

He is still settling in after the long journey back but I am looking forward to getting to know him and gaining his trust.

I know lots of people on here have exracers, does anyone have any useful advice or tips for me?

How exciting, but we need pics :D

Hope you have lots of fun together & keep us updated on your progress, what do you plan to do with him?

OMG!!!! Lucky you!! I miss my darley boy soo much!! it will be 2 years this November since he went over rainbow bridge.

WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS!!!!!!

Cant wait to see him good luck!!!

I'm not sure how to add pictures to a thread so have added a couple to my profile.

He will be 6 on Monday and I am planning on doing a bit of everything with him - a good all rounder :-)

How exciting. Goneshowjumping on here has a Darley boy - he's lovely!

Can't see that there are any pics on your profile

Good luck with him :)

i certainly do Mollichop!!! (how are you by the way?)
I have had my darleys horse coming up to 2 years now and it was the best thing I ever did and would def go and get another from them!
It's been a bumpy road, and not easy all the way but what I have got out of it is more knowledge than I could ever have imagined!
Marley is now competing in BS this year and planning to do a few BE events on a ticket to see how he gets on.
My best peice of advice for you is to take the highs with the lows and always accept that ex racers need a lot of time to adjust and realise they are a horse....not a running machine!
The best feeling is when your out at a show and people comment as to how nice your horse is and you can think...yeah I did that!
Good luck with him and keep us all posted and if you need anything just shout! (if you pm me ill add you on facebook then you can see the progress pics of my boy and would love to see some of yours!)

He's stunning, I hope you have a lot of fun with him :D

X-racers make stunning horses, i hope you have many happy years :D
