The little grey mare which I posted about a week or so ago is here, in my field, happily making friends with my big lad and little Bambi! She is only on full loan but I am hoping it will be a long happy partnership! Her owner is just lovely and just wants her horse to be happy and really showed an interest in everything.
Am absolutely over the moon with her so far (and so was my big lad!) she just strolled off the box after a 2 1/2 hr journey and acted like she had been here all her life - completely unfazed - she even permitted my 2 children to give her lots of pats and carrots. It will be lovely having something to ride again and also feel happy for my big lad who wasnt particularly enjoying his retirement and will like have someone else to share his field (little Bambi has to live in a starvation paddock so they can see each and stand next to each other but cant actually touch or scratch).
My poor long suffering husband came home to three horses and just shook his head slowly......I on other hand couldnt think of a more perfect thing!
