Cannot figure out how you all get them tight enough without that long leather strap to pull on

i have oiled it since the photo and i think that if it doesn`t fit my pony i will keep it cos my daughter may get another horse when her youngest baby is older.
i want to change the bit to my 6`` snaffle for now,do i undo the screw thingies with a screwdriver?
thanks

You should be able to take the bit off and change it without unscrewing anything but I cannot see how your bit is attached to that bridle so hard for me to say. I would imagine it is just buckeld or tied on?

english girth.when on or off the horse just hold it really near the buckle. i use the 1st and third strap.i always use a mounting block to get on.i have seen many saddles with twisted trees from constant use over the years of getting on from the ground.

Well if you are able to screw them off then that is what I would do!. I have never had a bridle with that sort of rivet/screw.

have you tried to pull really hard to see if they pop apart like a snap ?

However it is attached it should be easy to change it out.

That dog just looks like it wants to chew on that saddle in the worst way! lol

i too have just brought a new western saddle (my bum got too big for my other one lol) ive got a bridle like that and yes i unscrew it with a screw driver, does get on my nerves though
