Following my various posts on TBs I thought I'd introduce you to my new boys, both came from a friend straight out of training - the bay (Max) has had a couple of months off with us (not through necessity, but because I've been out of action) - he's 3, last time he was ridden was Dec '13 coming off the track after a race - this was his first time with a rider back on and he was like a riding school pony. Today 3 days later he went for his first mini-hack down the road and behaved very well. He's also barefoot (since January) and thriving - very pleased with him.
The chestnut (Zep) arrived last week, never raced, also just turned 3 - everyone is in love with him! Loves to cuddle, was in training but just not got what it takes. Also the fattest TB I've had off the track, loves to eat all day long
my instructor has her eye on him, reckons he looks more like an eventer than a racehorse! He's had his shoes off today and will be joining the herd in the field tomorrow.
