Just wanted to share with you all as I am so excited - I have finally managed to convince the vet that my horse isn't foot sore but lame on his back right hind/pelvis.
Vet came out yesterday and agreed he has hind limb lameness which he believes is either bone remodelling around hock - so poss spavin or it could be higher up in his pelvis. Ryan is off to horsey hospital over the next week or so for x-rays and scans to clarify exactly where issue is starting from as the hock could be causing pelvis issue or vice versa.
So any info on success of spavins being treated & how gratefully received? If it is spavin it is apparently usually caused by concussion which is a shame as Ryan has pretty much had the life of riley & never been over worked, so yet again we have been unlucky, but Vet seems to think if it is this, it can be very successfully treated. Please can you all keep your fingers crossed that it isn't bony changes in the pelvis or his back going again as that would not be great news for him, but I am just so pleased he is now going to get the help he clearly needs - am one very excited Mum!
