About 2 weeks ago my old chap, Crispin,(32) was diagnosed with liver problems. He has lost a lot of weight and has bad photosensitisation. Well, he has had further blood tests and he still has high white blood cell count and high globulin which could mean cancer or infection, but everything else has gone back to normal. We are continuing to treat him with antibiotics and Vit B12. His legs are so much better and I think he has put on some weight! I would say he is now a 2 on the 1-5 condition score. I know that probably doesnt sound great but if you knew how hard it is to get weight on this horse you would understand why i am pleased! Still a way to go although he will never be a fatty!
Not counting my chickens but the fact he is eating really well and putting on weight is good for him.
I suspect it is either a slowly progressing cancer or old age liver problems. Not sure really what the future holds but he seems happy and has a shiney dappled coat so we will keep on going.
Dont need hugs for me but you could send him a few if you want!!
