3 months ago I took on a field which I rent off a lovely couple.
I needed a companion for my cob, and someone I knew offered to loan me an old pony I used to ride when I was younger at their stables.
He arrived to me very skinny, covered in lice, unable to eat properly and very very withdrawn.
He didnt come near me for a couple of days, and I soon realised he needed a lot more help than I first realised.
So first thing was to treat the lice, and then out came my lovely dentist.
A massive splinter and sharp edges later and he could eat grass again :D
Then gradually over the next few weeks he had his feet trimmed, was wormed and felt a lot lot better :D
He now has decent grass, some fast fibre and chaff (made into a soup), and a rainsheet to keep him dry when it tips down... :D and he loves it.
He is happy again now, and I dread to think how much longer he would of lasted out on the moor.

Here he is when he first came, hiding in the corner of the field

And here he is now!
