Took Tia to do the baby classes at Merrist Wood today and man, it was PACKED! As some of you know, I've been having a few confidence issues jumping and today, I was determined to tackle them. We aren't exactly stylish nor proficent at this poles lark so entered the 2'3 and the 2'6 which both had around 70 people in them
The warm up was enough to kill us, I don't mind a bit of socialising in the warm up arena but walking in lines of 3 in a 20X60 when there are at least 20 others trying to warm up is simply not on
Thought that would blow her up but she was super and we attempted to jump the practise fence (never normally try!) and she was a little too relaxed and we crashed through it. Ditched that plan and jus warmed up.
Went into the 2'3 and thought 'positive thinking makes positive things happen' and I aimed to just get round fences 1-8. Good lord knows what planet Tia was on, she listened and jumped nicely and before I knew it we were into the second phase. Went slowly as I didn't have a hope of beating the whizzing ponies and just had the last down
but
- I had survived!
After an hour or so wait, an impatient horse and rider re-entered the ring for the 2'6. It blew her brain a little for the fillers were out in action but she listened and tried and unfortunately had 2 down as she needed quite a lot of help to get over the fear of the evil fillers and rushed a little when we met them.
