horseflesh in Britain.
I don't know about you but when I think of native ponies I think surefooted and hardy. But nooo not Maisy.
Went out for a ride on the moors, and to be fair it was foul weather, really windy and chucking it down with rain.
But shes a native, she should be able to cope. Oh no, we had napping the whole way up the road, once on the moors we tried spinning, rushing off, going sideways, head was bent away from the wind, bum was shoved into it. Basically doing everything to hide from the wind. Wimp.
And then the surefootedness. She clearly wasnt in the queue for that skill.
Tiny stones on the bridleway, we trip over them. Larger rocks, which Charm and Hels_Bels manage to negotiate, we fall over them. You try guiding her, she trips over them. You give her her head, she trips over them.
Sodding useless.
And then, the ditch. It can't have been over a foot wide
Charm managed to step across it...We get to it, foot stretches out, just plonks in the middle of ditch, sinks down to above knee, head dissappears and goes in the mud as well.
She's daft. And useless. Bloody southern pansy, are all New Forests this thick?
Just a moan as I am cold and wet
Oh yes, and then she wouldnt leave her stable to go back to the field, cant say I blame her though.
The muddy little wench.
