My poor boy got booted

My Lukey got kicked by one of the other horses on Sunday just above his knee, most of it is just a deep graze and the vet said that the hair will grow back, but it tapers off to quite a deep cut. A couple of people on the yard said I was mad for calling the vet out on a Sunday as I get charged emergency call out and that they would wait until Monday morning but the vet said he was glad I called him as we got a headstart with the antibiotics. His knee is quite swollen but the cut is clean and not oozing anything nasty. I was going to enter him in the veteran class at a local show in a couple of weeks, but won't be doing it now obviously!

I can just spend lot's of time pampering him and giving him TLC until his leg has healed! I'm sure he'll enjoy it hehe!!

Hope he feels better soon, poor lad. You may have saved yourself money by getting the infection treated promptly, not to mention,having his leg checked to ensure the damage was not more serious. I don't think you're daft at all.
