I'm having a crap time just now with my animals. My horse is off work for the unforseeable future. And now my Border Terrier is broken! I'm not sure if he's afraid or in pain....

He's quite a sensitive soul, at one time in his life he was afraid of his food bowl! He wasn't afraid of it - we discovered - but actually something near it that had made a loud noise and then wouldn't go near his food. Now if you know my wee Chet, that's saying something!

So the mystery at the moment is that he is refusing to go UP steps/stairs. He will go down quite happily. If I am standing behind him, he will go up and he lept in to the car quite confidently this morning (I was standing behind him). He got himself trapped in the living room which has four steps up to kitchen and then pee'd on the floor down there cos he wouldn't come up. When I realised where he was, I called him, and brought out his favorite treats and NOPE, wouldn't come near the stairs.

I wonder if maybe hte poodle in his bouncy exuberence has maybe knocked Chet off the steps somewhere and sent him flat to his back. He might have some pain (when I did watch him go up the steps at my work, he sort of hopped with both back legs together, rather than individually moving the back legs).

I will probably get him to the vet anyway, but I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had anything similar happen?
