Today they've had 27 Quakes - ranging from 2.2 to 6 Magnitude. One friend found her horse racing around the paddock dripping with sweat and shaking.

It must be so scarey for them and exhausting for those that are in the thick of it all. Since September 2010 they have had 7297 earthquakes of varying Magnitude

For any of you who might be interested this link will take you to a site that is in timelapse

http://www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz/today

It shows all the quakes, their sizes and the times they happen in a fast timelapse.

The Greendale fault is the new fault line that is extending towards and through the centre of Christchurch.

The round area called Akaroa is an extinct volcano.

Just come off the phone to my friend in Christchurch who had surgery to her inner ear last week, thankfully not this week - she said she was worrying about the cracks in the walls as she went into surgery. Luckily their new house is still standing.

I was at work most of today and unlike me had not read/heard the news. They have had it tough, we visited Christcurch about 2 years ago, and it was such a stunning city. The kids loved it, and the town centre now in ruins.

It must be so hard to get on with things when you are not sure how long they are going to continue for. Most of my family (my mum is a NZ'er) are in New Zealand, (rest in UK) but mostly on the North Island and very bottom of South Island, so no where near Christchurch, but they are a tough and resourceful lot, so have no doubt they will come through ok.
