My Puppy has been born !!

Got a text from breeder last night to say that the puppies were being born - i'm so excited. I've been waiting for years to get my own dog - but i've had to wait until I go part time at work in September.

I can go and pick one in 4 weeks time then should be able to bring him home at the end of September. She text me some photos this morning and they are soooo cute !! I'm getting a german Shepherd which i've always wanted for as long as I can remember.

I've had dogs as a child but this will be my first of my own. Any help or tips would be much appreciated. I'm planning on going to puppy socialisation classes once he has his vaccinations - then he can start obediance classes once he is 6 months - but any help settling him in would be really appreciated !!

I have a 9 week old GSD puppy. I have 3 adults too, the others are all home bred but the pup is from another breeder, but of the same lines as mine. She is a little horror but adorable. Training is very important in GSDs, they are so intelligent they need to do something. Evie is already learning to sit and lie down. She has already been out to a couple of horse shows for socialising (being carried as she is not fully vaccinated). You may find a local training club will take your pup earlier than 6 months, I plan to start Evie in September, when she will be just over 3 months old. How is your new puppy bred?
 
The training club i've been looking at will take them as soon as they have had their vacinations - it says puppy socialisation but I assume that this will be starting basic training as well then into the main classes at 6 months old ?

The mother is called Dreamshell Kayla and the sire is Aristima Blue Thunder of Gentlebears.

As I said i've never had a dog from a puppy before so any advice anyone can give would be much appreciated. x
 
I had two Westies from pups and now my black labrador bitch has had 8 pups, so now I have watched the whole thing from birth to being homed.

When you get your puppy, it will need lots of love, after spending 24/7 with there brothers and sisters and mum, it is a very traumatic time moving away from the pack and becoming solitary.

Two of our pups have just gone to their new homes and the first one has settled very well, the second one has been up all night crying, so they are all different, the same as babies, having a second dog always helps. My labrador had my 2 westies to help her settle in, and we are keeping 2 of her pups now that my 2 westies had died.

I have found it very traumatic letting them go aswell.
