and shes only 6 months!! Really wasn't expecting it so soon!
Pointless post really, but 6 months is ok right? not too early?
shes a border terrier if that makes any difference?
also, does it mean she will have stopped growing?
Other than this, she is getting better in some respects with meeting other dogs, there are 2 dogs in the village who the owners wont allow her to say hello to so she becomes very barky around them, but i think its because she can't go up to them.
Shes a lovely little ball of fun, so so sweet, this morning i was ill and slept in to 10am ( :O ) with her snoozing on my feet :D (naughty puppy :p )
The joys of having a little dog!

Nothing to worry about, nothing to do with her stopping growing, she will have two a year, mark this on a calendar so you will be prepared next time.
She IS old enough to have puppies so keep her away from entire male dogs for the next few weeks, apart from the risk of mating, it will drive some mad.

Try and distract her with food or a toy when she is barking, don't let her strain on the lead and gob off at other dogs, it is rude and will earn her a clip around the ear from a grumpy dog if she is not careful :p

Not getting her spayed as I want to breed from her if hips etc. are all ok (only one litter).
Our other bitch had very random seasons, can't remember the name of this problem, but it meant we couldn't predict when it would happen.
We distract her, and she is learning (shes just a very nervous dog), but it seems these two dogs wind her up. She will learn!!

Please do spay her after her one litter, pyometra can kill, as a couple of people on here can testify :( my bitch did not get it until she was 11 and thankfully survived.
ETA also be wary about breeding her if her nervousness remains with her until adulthood, it is a bad trait for a breeding bitch to have and pass on to her offspring, trust me, I know x

yup- wont breed from her unless she becomes more confident around other dogs, which she is, just a slow process after she was attacked at puppy classes :(
Wouldn't dream of having more than one litter, and only if shes suitable. If not she will be spayed.
We have 2 labradors that are the offspring of awful breeding- one with epilepsy and the other with horrible skin allergies. We don't need to add more badly bred dogs to the world tbh.

Don't breed from a nervous BT, there are so many with bold temperaments already bred from.... :)

We wont, unless she comes more into herself, which she is every time she goes out :)
Shes a sweet dog, not nervous around anything other than other dogs, but thats puppy classes for you!
She'll be loved either way. She is currently fast asleep on her blanket beside me. Best birthday present in the world :D
