My friend called me weird tonight when I asked her if she counted strides up to a speed bump whilst driving too... and also confesed I automatically leaned forward to 'jump'... and sometimes cheered when I'm pre-counted the stride right... please tell me someone else does it??? I know I do it when watching SJ on TV.... weird thing is Ive never really done much jumping so I have no iea why I do it! Damn good eye for a stride though, even the awkward speed bumps lol! Please tell me i'm not alone....

sadly..... i think you are alone on this one. we all at one time or other have ridden a round of jumps from our armchair.... but driving over speed bumps.......i admire your imagination
 
I'm afraid its not just u i jump everything mentally usually in my head but occasionally i'll actually say out loud 1 2 3 pop! How embarrassing! I've only just learnt to control the urge to shout "horse poo" everytime we drive past some!
 
Oh Keltiepads - you are so not alone! Believe me, my best cross country rides are usually those I "ride" alongside the road when I'm in the car and my best dressage tests are those done on the sofa!!

Wicked! I am not alone anymore - and yes ok, I admit I used to shout horsepoo too! but the folding - oh god, my OH creases sometimes - I don't realise Im doing it - have been known to count him into a ump and tell him to quick - get another one in! he thought it was his lucky day :-(

nope you are not alone i do this all the time and i do it if i'm walking on the pavement and there is a line on it too! funnily enough my instructor told me when i was young to count the strides upto the black lines in my school corridor to help me with my striding so i think it has stuck!!

So glad to hear that I am not a total lunatic and have great company..I too count strides, say one two three go and also fold over speed bumps (and there are a lot of them in Holland!) especially if I am riding the scooter or my bike my step kids think I am totally wacko.

And lets not even go to the place where I am walking with my OH and say outloud " good so there's braf" everytime I see a bike or something that could be construed as scary to a young horse. People must think I am taking him out for R& R from his secure unit

Wicked - just been told by my OH I often 'warn' him about flappy bags in hedges or birds hiding when he's driving... oh dear... I think I need help!
