i was heartbroken,my beautiful rottie girl died on the 21st december 2010,she was a top dog and i loved her so much.she was about 12 yo.she was the kindest most gentle dog you could meet and never done a bad thing the whole time i had her.
here are a few pictures of her

she was my daughters dog,she only came to stay with us because when she was about 3,our house was burgled and she came while the window was being fixed.
well, she settled in and i fell in love with her so i `stole` her and never gave her back.

she had slowed down a bit but was not ill and just collapsed in the garden,we carried her in and she just went asleep before we could even phone the vet.
we buried her in the field, where she used to lie in the long grass,i still miss her and think of her every day.

i did dread house training a bit but i took him in the garden after every meal and also every 2 hours,he was soon asking to go out and was clean within a month.

my main concern was for him to be a friendly dog that walks nice on the lead and is good around the horses,i think we have achieved that.

we go to obedience class every week.
at home he does sit,stay,down,fetch,leave-it,recall ect but at school he loses concentration,i think this is because i finish work then go home to get him for our classes and it is a bit of a rush.

here are the most recent pictures of him

hope you like my pics and would love to see yours.

he is a happy boy with an independent streak.
i am very pleased with him.
ps.he sleeps on the bed, there is something very reassuring about having a snoring heavy lump on your feet X

Another rottie fan here! Jimbo is gorgeous, don't they look different with their tails! Sorry to hear about your old girl but it sounds like she had a lovely peaceful end at home with her family.

What beautiful dogs, very sorry about your old girl but she obviously wanted for nothing, what a lovely end she had.

Your new boy is lovely and its good that you are going to training classes, my 2 Dobes have tails and its makes them look totally different, less threatening.

Where did you get your bells on their collars from? Ive been looking for them for a while.

thank you all.
i got the bells from early learning childrens shop.i like them on because when i am doing stables,i can hear where the dog is.

jimbo likes my yard routine, because i do the same thing each day he anticipates and is always helping do the water, muck out, fetch the hay etc

he adores water so he has a paddling pool in the yard.
he seems to have herding instinct because he enjoys putting the horses out in the morning and in again at night.he thinks himself very clever (little does he know that when i open the doors and gates they put them selves in and out lol)

he is still fascinated with playing with/eating horse-poo,i thought he would have grown out of that by now and the novelty worn off.

his best thing is going to my daughters house to see her dogs and when my son visits.he does little tricks for my mum and dad and enjoys any visitor that arrive because,of course, they have come to see him!

Lovely dogs both of them. I sadly lost my first rot, Holly, at 8 years old. Found her in one of her favourite spots dead. Very shocked but she didn't seem to have suffered, we suspect a heart attack. Don't they look different with a tail?

What gorgeous pics. Your old girl looks so regal, and it sounds like she had a very peaceful end. Love Jimbo's ears, looks like he is growing into a very well balanced member of the family too.

Lovely :)

We just met a lovely rottie down at the beach! Very polite and playful and good with the pup, not like the two small yappies a few hundred metres on down who were shouting their heads off at him while he wagged his tail and grinned :p

ahhhhhhh!

I have a rotti x german shepherd and shes the kindest sweetist girl ever, she plays chase with my mare and they on sooooo well.

Your pics are lovely.

Here my cross....

your old rottie was fab
i too sadly lost my rottie last september he was 13 yrs and i bred him
so i watched him enter the world and i sadly watched him pass away
i miss him so so much he was my best friend.

lovely dogs! i love rotties! my boyfriends brother has two. they are getting on in years now though. :(

your old girl was beautiful, and clearly had a wonderful life with you... something your new handsome wee chap can look forward to! ;)

they do look so different with tails! :) shoot me down... but i prefer the look of the docked tail in many breeds...:D

good luck with him- im sure you dont need it though! ;)

This is Dylan, His mother was a Rottweiler we met his father a St Bernard. However beginning to think that either we were lied to or that the bitch might have got a lab.
Either way hes a fab dog. Brilliant attitude even if being a constant asbo puppy at the moment (nothing too bad just big bouncy and all my lovely training thrown out of the window...)

And him saying " I swear the hedge just opened a hole and let me out, who was I to say no"

(we have chicken wired the hedge as he keeps getting out, but somehow Dylan keeps every now and again finds a way!!!!!!!!!!!!) My old neighbour had a lovely Rottie, and Dylan very much reminds me of that lovely big oaf :D
