Im contemplating buyiong a cheap youngster in the summer to break in and sell. A friend can get welshies for around £300-£500 and I thought it would be a good way to earn a little cash and have a little fun.

My instructor thinks I should buy a youngster but she has something more serious in mind

So if it was to live out with my mare and keep it for around 2-3 months would it be worth it. i dont mind putting the time in so long as I get a reward. Welshies seem to be selling for quite a bit at the mo.

I was about to say if you have a good eye for horses, you can probably pick something decent up at an auction for a couple hundred..ok it might need feeding and conditioning a little, but thats what its all about really....but mind you, if you know someone who can get you the welshes for that price AND they know what they are getting for you, could work out just aswell if not better!

I cant afford to keep 2 through the winter so that wouldnt be an option, plus im after a WB long term.

Tinker - my friend bought one last year and ended up keeping him, she is so happy with him. Will take the box down and take my pick. Just want an average horse, nothing special.
