As some off you know I rent a lovely stable yard with my friend but god is she messy. I'm a very tidy person when it comes to the yard and brush every day and all I have outside my stables is a bridle hang by each one. Wheelbarrow and tools are put neatly nxt to muck trailer. Now my rant starts..... She never picks her horses feet out and drags much all across my side off yard when Iv just swept up, has tons off rugs chucked everywhere, old horse shoes left on floor and broken mugs nxt to her stables. It's a total **** hole to put it nice and looks a total mess. The yo moaned at the yard so I gave him a tour and said my stables, her stables simple. Iv told her and told her and all I get is stop getting at me and leave me alone. Never sweeps and all her **** blows over my side so in the morning it looks like I don't bother. My farrier even comments on it. It's safety not just a mess. How would u deal with it? Am I just over tidy or would you be angry as well?

id be angry too - tell her shes selfish and lazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
does she have a car?????????? sweep it up and stick it in there:cool:

I would NOT be fine with broken mugs and other things that could potentially hurt my horse. However, although I would prefer it to be tidy and swept I think that is more down to personal preference, and I would not expect everyone sharing a facility to have the same view as me.

It is not the end of the world if she does not sweep, as long as there is not anything dangerous there. Perhaps you would have a more productive discussion with your friend if you can separate the safety concerns from the cosmetic concerns. Try to see it from her point of view as well, nobody likes nagging. If it bothers you too much just move.

Yes, i would be pretty narked, if i was that tidy, and she was,nt.
Could you take it in turns to do the whole yard, say one day you do it and the next she does. I must say i would find it a wast of time just sweeping half a yard, as unless you both do it at the same time, stuff is bound to blow about anyway.

She doesn't drive and that's a very long funny story. It's a lovely yard with rubber mat stables, built in water troughs, mangers. Full use off walker, school and gallops for £15 a week so I'm not moving. I have tidied it all up before with the hope she would keep it that way but nope no chance and I'm not moving back to the big livery yards around my area. The worst thing I saw her do which I had serious words with her was back in the winter when she was clipping her horse, he was tied up to a plastic tubeing which carries and protects the light switches wireing. She put string round the tube and tied him onto it. If he had pulled back and broke the tube/wire that's live. But didn't listen.
My spelling is very bad I'm afraid so sorry

Sorry so get rid of her or get her to agree to an arragement over the up keep of yard. I wouldn't want to move either sounds like a grand sort of place. could you have a word with the people you rent off to buck her up abit.

It's a block off 12 stables on a active racing yard but they don't use them anymore as they cut back so we begged him to rent the block to us. I don't work there anymore but my friend does. We have a long slope leading to stables which must be kept muck free at all times due to the race horse owners walking about. I don't over fill my barrow so it don't fall out but my friend has it sky high and falls everywhere. Don't get me wrong I love my friend and was a rock when I had my mare put to sleep, she had a very wet shoulder !!!! So I won't fall out with her but would love to know off any crafty way to get her tidy ;)
