Maybe the photos are dodgy but I think he looks a bit better allready?!

He has been on 3 hours grass in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and 3 feeds of hi-fi, just under 1/2 a scoop of pony nuts, and veggie oil :D

Thank you...AmyMay you were right not to panic and over feed him (I think it was you who said that) I can see a difference allready. Have to say I have been keeping him warm at night which helps I think (he is in a fleece!) and there is an awfully long way to go with regards to topline etc. I am on a walking mission with him too so hopefully that will come. We have tried to vary the walking this week with poles, transitions and hacking but have to confess I am bored allready! He is such an honest chap I am delighted with him. :D

Just walk him out on the roads. Boring yes, productive yes:D

Thanks Roo, I am lucky to have Doctor Green - they are actually graizing in the track which seperates my fields, as seems to be where the best grass is at the moment!

I am lucky the kids are on holiday becasue it means the girl that rides for me can bring him in for a lunch :D

The walking is SOOOOOOOOO boring. I want to get him hunting by the opening meet so fingers crossed if I put the foundation in first I will be :D

He looks so different!!

I know how hard it can be to get weight on / keep weight on a TB. I have an ex-racer who was v skinny when I got him - very stressed horse so hard to keep weight on but also had very 'thoroughbred' moments when being fed.

I tried loads of conditioning stuff but they just made him fizzy and a nightmare to ride!

I put him on alan and page calm and condition - just a small amount in his feed and then plenty of hay / grass etc and he was fantastic on that feed - would never have him on anything else now.

Looking good! I walked mine for 2 months in hand alongside a bit of lunging as he gained more weight but mine was a lot thinner than yours so prhaps you won't have to walk quite as long. Just think how fit you'll be! Mine is unrecognisable from the horse I bought in Feb, double the size, working really well on the flat (only ridden since middle of April) and growing muscle in all the right places. Such a nice feeling isn't it, seeing them change for the better. Enjoy hunting!!
