My yearling goes tomorrow.

Pointless post really but dreading tomorrow as my yearling is going off to his new home. He's my first homebred and personal circumstances have forced me to sell him so I'm pretty upset about it. Tho the home he's going to is THE best possible! The lady is madly in love with him and keeps her horses all their lives and is very kind and experienced. It still breaks my heart tho!

I feel for you but last year my daughter and I bought an 8 month old gelding from a lady who needed to sell. She was so sad to see him go and we all cried when we collected him!

We have stayed in touch and I send pictures all the time. We love him to pieces and she is going to come and see him soon (she has just had a baby). We also keep them for life and while I know she would have prefered to keep him I think it helps that she can still have contact. He may go back there for backing as well!

I hope your story has just as happy an ending.

Awww, that's lovely. Thanks for telling me that. I'm sure she'll keep in touch with me as she seems like a lovely person. Just wish I could win the lottery!
