A few weeks ago I posted about how unreasonable my YO was being and her behaviour towards myself and other liveries - before I continue, I must stress I have found another yard!! and am not here for much longer - well the behaviour turned to being down right disgusting.
I found out yesterday that a friend of mine came off her horse on Weds night and seriously hurt herself. Her horse isn't the sanest but they had been working beautifully together in recent weeks. She was having a lesson in one of the schools that overlook the fields. YO had turned one of riding school mares out with geldings and one of the geldings was chasing the mare. Mare desparately trying to get away, crashed through field fence and makes a huge amount of noise and commotion. My friend's horse saw all this, freaked out and went mad, broncing round the arena until my friend came flying off and landed badly on her back and couldn't move - all thought she had broken or fractured it. Another friend of mine who has been in the "doghouse" with YO had just ridden onto yard after finishing a hack. In the middle of injured friend being attended to by ambulance and a lot of people being there, YO turns around to friend on horse and screams at her "this is why we have a two horse rule, do you want to end up like this?" pointing at injured friend. Other firend told her now is not the time nor the place to be saying things like that and she would discuss it later, but YO would not leave it and followed her into yard, still screaming.
Now I find a few things offensive and wrong here. Firstly, that she has no consideration for my injured friend, who can't see what everyone else can, can't move or feel her limbs and for all she knew had broken her back and that was what YO was getting at by saying "do you want to end up like this".
Secondly, that in a completely unsuitable situation, her only mindset seemed to try and push a point at the expense of another person laying injured who wasn't even out of earshot!
Thirdly - it does not prove her point as well. It proves my point and the other liveries that accidents do happen, you take that risk as a rider and they will happen no matter how many people are around - this happened to her in front of one of YO instructors who made her push friends horse round corner where commotion was happening and he was watching. If we had that situation in the indoor school, it would have been a bigger problem as there woul have been a horse running round the arena, someone on the floor and me with my horse - with no phone in the school lobby or anywhere to safely tether the horses so I could sort my friend out.
And lastly, which most of you would have gathered, i think the way she spoke to my other friend was disgusting. She could not take the hint that this should be discussed later and that screaming like a banshee and behaving like a bully is not acceptable.
I get hte feeling that given my last confrontation with her (in which she tried to bully me and backed off when I stood up to her about the indoor school rule) she will be coming up to me tomorrow to reiterate her point at my friend's expense.
