My 2yr old filly has started biting everything in sight including me! She's also started being bargy, not wanting to stand nicely to have her feet picked out & for farrier etc I've had her from a foal & she's always been really well behaved prior to this.

We moved to a new yard nearly 2 months ago with amazing grass & she's now being stabled too where as she was living out with shelters before. She doesn't get any high calorie hard feed, she's just fed a balancer & a bit of hifi lite. I never hand feed her anything either.

Is it likely to be a teething thing or is there anything I can do to stop her biting?
Would the spring grass & her hormones be the cause of her change in behaviour?

Any tips would be great as I don't want her to think her behaviour is acceptable but don't want to make a massive issue out of it either...

It could be the good grass and time of year just making her a bit above herself!

I would try and stop the biting asap, especially to you (and other people!). She may be getting bored so maybe try doing some groundwork with her to ocupy her brain and chanel her energy and hopefully install some manners again! I'm not talking lunging for hours, but little walks, teaching her to stand and lead up properley etc

If you are worried it may be something teeth related get a dentist out for a check to rule this out.

Good luck :)
