Shadow is finally registered BD. I am convinced his myler is illegal for comps because of the 3 little copper stips running through the mouth piece even though they are only about 2mm thick in length and therefore constitute being of varying metals. However, one of the girls on the yard said no its ok, as the bit itself is made of one metal only, and that they are only laid on top and not actually a section of the bit. (this post will only make sense if you have seen/tried a myler snaffle)
Anyone know the answer?

Yep - phone BD

I'm pretty certain the copper inlay constitutes mixed metal so that would be illegal.

The bit rings can be different because they dont come into contact with the mouth but you cant have two different metals in the mouth.

Unless BD has changed its rule.

Thats what i thought, but she seems to disagree saying shes never been told she cant compete in it. I think ill go with the normal french link for tests untill i know for sure

well im not sure for BD but definiately it is a legal dressage bit for eventing dressage/ pony club dressage and unaff. dressage and it is said to be dressage legal by myler so im guessing it is legal??

Your bit is legal now - if it doesn't have hooks

Unfortunately if your snaffle has the myler hooks, even if they are not used, you cannot compete with that bit.
