Myler bits

Does anyone have any advice re. myler bits?

My welsh x Hackney goes wonderfully in a ported kimblewick - still a bit strong but controllable so not scared of the bit. But I've recently noticed her tongue bulges up at the back, like she draws it back.

We tried raising the bit as some people suggested, but she still did it. She doesn't do it in her single jointed snaffle so bought a jointed kimblewick today..Only the curb doesn't come into effect at all. Just testing it, with my finger between the curb and her chin, pulling on the reins loosened the chain more than anything! Even when I put it as tight as possible. Sooo thats no go.
Please no lectures on schooling her - I tried for 18 months with no hope, though she IS getting better in her snaffle.

So the real problem, I think, is that she has a fat tongue, so I thought of going down the myler route?

Any thoughts?

ive got my 'no brakes-schooling is useless' boy in a myler correctional ported barrel snaffle with hooks and this is the best by far that ive had him in, doesnt fight it, and most of the time is controllable!!!
He is a fat tongued, low roof of mouth connemara x
The port gives the tongue lots more room, and the hooks give a little poll pressure....

I've tried both myler and pee wee and prefer the myler. Got one part bred american quarter horse with exceptionally fat tongue and in a normal snaffle you can see his fat tongue sticking out just about everywhere like bubble gum, but in the mylers you don't notice the tongue at all. He has a comfort snaffle but before that I used the myler combination when daughter was smaller and he was too strong, and he was happy in that too.

Not tried him in the pee wee but used it on my own horse and not really that impressed with it. I only used it on the mildest setting so can't comment on the stronger braking power of the top setting (couldn't ever work out how to change it round tbh!). Would happily lend it to you if you are near me for a go, although assume the HH bit bank might have one?
 
I ahve a myler comfort snaffle with hooks (and holes for curb but i dont use one) and i think its great, could have been coincidence but i had my first "in control" canter in it and haven't lost control properly since and my horse is obviously happier in it than the various snaffles i tried first
 
My pony is in the MB02, eggbutt comfort snaffle with hooks too! I have no control issues, he used to be in a three ring gag; but he does tend to put his head right down when cantering.
I will stick with it though, I think he's doing that because he's not quite fit!
