Could I have some feedback on Myler bits please? What do we all think? My youngsters been getting quite strong. Teeth fine, tack fine. I don't want a stronger bit, just a different type perhaps. He's currently in a plain jointed egg but snaffle. I've never tried a Myler before, but heard that they are quite good.
Feedback please?

I think they're great - have an embarrassingly large collection! 🙊 they are thinner which I guess makes them a little sharper but they fit the mouth very well. My youngster is very happy in his. The bit bank is probably your friend to get you started :-)

I am a fan of myler bits but they are not a fix all .
It depends on the conformation of the horses mouth , thick tongued horses often like them .
They are thin so they can cut mouth quite easily if stuff goes wrong .

I use Myler and have been very pleased with the results. However, like any product does not fit all. I would try and borrow one or get out a bit bank before buying.

My old hunter was a bit too strong in a snaffle but only a bit - the Myler comfort snaffle was the answer for hunting, team chasing, show jumping and Trec.

My grey didn't like french link or lozenge snaffles, but she does like the hanging cheek myler comfort snaffle, so that's what she has. You do have to be careful which one you choose as some are not dressage legal and they do come up bigger than the same size in a lozenge snaffle.

Thank you for the replies - The young lad is a very good boy really, but being young, and a rather large Friesian, he has a tendency to get a bit strong on occasion (what half halt?) I've not tried Mylers before.......so I'll try the bit bank next!
Thanks again everyone.
