Stumbled across a dizzying range of these on eBay... I just don't get it; how does one even start to choose one?! What with the different mouthpieces, shank length etc, I wouldn't even know where to begin (not that I'm really looking to buy; just curious) Can anyone shed any light? and are they really worth all that money??
Anyone??
Thanks

I want one, but they do seem quite pricey! I was wanting to get the medium shank one (has like the dutch gag cheeks), rather than being restricted to short or long, but I really have no idea

. They seem quite popular though

Not all horses like them but when they do, theyre fab, give good steering and efficient brakes.
Mouthpiece wise, choose the same as you'd normally use. Triple barrel is good for those that lean/pull down. The normal comfort mouthpiece is probs the most popular and lots of horses like it.
I have a short shank and a lonk shank, the short shank isnt a strong bit, I've used it on babies who are hard to steer and its fab for that. The long shank is fairly strong- I used to xc Boss in it and generally had sufficient control, it was good as he didnt fight against it like bits with more mouth/poll pressure
