Anyone use one?

I have been riding my horse in a hackamore for hacking and jumping as she really doesn't get on well with the bit and ends up trying to run through it, sets on it etc. but when she's in the hackamore she is fab! Only problem is the steering for jumping. From what i understand these bits work quite alot on the nose and chin as well as the poll and mouth, am thinking it could be a possibility for my mare? What do you think? what's your experiences good or bad? What to be sure about buying one before i part with £80 +

myler bits are fab, they work on a variety of different points, bars, tounge, roof of the mouth, poll, chin and nose and you pick which one you need based on mouth confirmation, yours and your horses ability. I recomend a book called "a whole bit better" which most saddlers which stock myler bits will have that tells you what options there are for you. Its quite often on that revovling stand you see that has all the bits on. There are litterally thousands of combinations. It would be worth while finding out what it is about a bit that your horse objects to and theres bound to be a myler to suit! Not to want to do small bussinesses out of trade but go to a shop and check them out, then ebay it.... or try bit bank then you can try before you buy!

I tried one on a mare I ride (cob mare, young and fairly green, ridden in a snaffle until she got too strong then in a kimblewick but she hates it and is still strong) on the recommendation of a friend, who very kindly lent me hers. Pure luck I suppose that Kit LOVES it, is very soft, not at all strong, much more controllable etc. etc. I have the short shank triple barrel mouth. It's great because it works by spreading the pressure, as Kit (as far as I can work out) dislikes curb pressure but takes the mick without. The curb strap is much higher up and doesn't work on it's own so she doesn't object at all. I just wish she were mine and I could have her in it all the time, as every time her owner rides her in her kimblewick it makes it 10 times harder for me to carry on next time I ride! Not quite worth me spending £90 (wouldn't let owner ride in it as she's a novice) but I was very tempted. Luckily my friend is lovely (thanks Boss!!) and I still have hers!

i've got two, the comfort snaffle mouthpiece and the 3-barrel mouthpiece. tbh my mare doesn't love them as much as former owner said she did, so they're up for sale i think... PM me if you want to try.
some horses love them, some don't, as with most bits, it's a matter of trial and error.
they are supposed to be a precision piece of equipment though, they aren't for hauling on, they're too sharp for that. my mare ran through hers last time i used it and i ended up hauling on it, not nice or effective.
